This is Huggins. She was born in the first litter and is now six years old. Huggins has a twin sister named Muggins who is almost identical to her. Poor Miss Huggins has been one of our low girls ever since the Brat Pack took over, and could probably be classified as our Omega.
Huggins doesn’t really know how to act around people, but is very friendly. Huggins likes to nip people in the butt when they are not looking, and she thinks it's funny; it is really one of her ways to communicate. Because of her history and position in the pack status Huggins is extremely hard to get close to and gain trust from. But once you get to know her she is a very nice girl. She will not let you pet her, but will come and make hand to nose or nose to nose contact with people she trusts. We hope Huggins will open up more and let us pet her when she gets a little older, but she may never.
Huggins is extremely white, probably the brightest white of any wolf in the facility. Her guard hairs seem to shine bright white, but you can see through them to some grayish wool underneath. Huggins has a very cute, innocent looking face, and usually seems to have a sorrowful expression on her face. Physically she is about the third largest female in the enclosure. Huggins and Muggins have the most distinctive faces. They are the easiest to tell apart from the rest of the wolves, but to be able to tell the two of them apart is a whole different story. Muggins is a little bigger, but other than that they both look almost identical, and always hang out in the same corner; usually only ten or twenty feet from each other. They are lacking either the will or the unity to stand up against the Brat Pack, instead they submit to them even though they are older and larger.
You can look for Huggins or her twin sister Muggins in the low girl’s corner, closest to the highway, with their tails in a neutral or tucked position.
